Today I have Jeff and Simone with Soul Journey Crystals who offer a variety of crystals and gemstone jewelry. And let's see here. Let's get them in. Hey Jeff and Simone, how y'all doing? Awesome. All right. So gosh, I mean, I've had y'all at a couple of the fairs now, and y'all always have such an awesome setup. And I know this is fairly new for you guys. So I I guess my first question would be is how did y'all get started? What what inspired you to start this business?

Well, um, it actually started for me, um, it started about uh 17 years ago. Um I had met a very interesting lady. She was a part of the metaphysical world, and we worked together, and I shared some, I was conf, you know, shared some stories with her about my anxiety and um how I felt like energy around me sometimes. And um that's where it started. She told me about um being an M what an empath was. Um and uh so she like gave me suggestions on crystals to wear to protect myself from that. Um, and the actually the first crystal uh was fluorite, um, which now I know it you know protects your aura from uh negative energies around, it just protects your aura in general. And so that's where my journey started. Um I started a business with my son in Colorado in 2018, and we made jewelry and then I moved out here. I didn't know you know what brought me out here, but I moved out here from Colorado, and that's where Soul Journey Crystals began. Yeah.

Oh, that's awesome. Yeah, isn't that interesting? That's how um I kind of started out too was I had someone that showed me how to meditate with crystals and how the energy of them could elevate and you know, uh protect you psychically and you know, all that kind of stuff. So it's always it seems like it always kind of starts out that way, right? And we figure out we're an empath, and that's always some a fun journey to figure out and everything. Um so I mean it started there. How has it grown now? I mean, now you're doing fairs, do you have, you know, what kind of jewelry are you making and stuff now?

Uh well, so yeah, it initially when I first moved out here, um, we were I was actually thinking I was like closing a chapter and I was just going to sell some of the inventory that I had from Colorado.

Um, but Jeff and I started doing uh farmers market and we were uh Yeah, we we kind of uh we kind of went that way to kind of you know offload some inventory. Because like I said, she thought she was closing a chapter, and and um, I think Spirit told us, no, you're not. So we kind of uh we kind of, you know, it was I was all new to it. She's been doing it, she's wonderful, great. I'm seeing all her creations. So I kind of just sat back and we kind of committed to a farmer's market, the the Northeastern farmers market, and we, you know, we we kind of was widely accepted by a lot of people in that market that was looking out and and seek seeking us, and it kind of made us think, well, you know, maybe we do have this purpose and we'll continue this journey. Um, and now we kind of seen what we kind of continually got confirmation that we should be doing what we're doing, basically.

We're on our chosen path, right?

So I imagine through this journey you've been able to see people that you're actually able to help and teach about the different types of energy of the crystals and and what jewelry you're making and things like that.

SPEAKER_00 4:50

Absolutely. Yeah, absolutely. And I think we've grown, we've grown because I think during this journey we've also kind of we've kind of opened up a little bit more and we're being more guided on what we need to create. There's times that um, you know, and that's kind of how I got started in it. Actually, I was just kind of a a bystander of set up the booth and kind of just try to help out. And as I was kind of in the area that she was creating, I started getting like, and I don't even know if she knows this, but I started getting like downloads and pictures of things I needed to create and stuff like that. And I asked a few questions, and the next thing you know, I come home one day and I was like, I gotta create this bracelet. And it's like one of my first bracelets was a uh a yin and yang, which is a highlight with uh brown snowflake obsidian, and we put Mecca quartz in it. Yeah, and so we we continually um I continually see like kind of marriages to blend certain stones together, you know, and I question a few of them and I'll look it up and see if they pair well and all that stuff, and I got to the point now where I kind of don't even need to question it because I was told that's gonna go together and somebody needs it.

And so we yeah, so we intentionally we intentionally craft that kind of jewels and our our jewelry, and it amazes me because lo and behold, it may not be that that one event, but the next event within three events, somebody comes up and needs that and wanted that.

And uh it's it's literally amazing on how that happens. So like I said, that's just more confirmation that we get it and and the energy that we're putting into it.

So Right. Yeah, it's amazing the way that spirit comes in and says, Hey, hold up now, you're not gonna be done with this. I want you to expand it instead. So let's let's take the ball and really go to rolling. So did you I know that for myself, there were several points in my life where I went, okay, what do you want me to do? And then they just take you and take off running, right? So did that it sounds like it's kind of the same with you guys, right?

Oh yeah. For me personally, um, when I started making jewelry, my main thing was uh wire wraps. So I would wire wrap pendants. Um and you know, then I was like, I'm not doing that anymore. So I kind of went away from it. Um and now it's just like um and I and I focused on something else. It was something else that was that I was called to do. Um, and now I'm back to making the pendants, and it's just kind of like it's just spirit-led, it really is. Um I kind of just go with what you know um what what I'm feeling for at the moment and at the time. And um, that's what's different for me this time around. The first time I feel like the journey was like, um, let's create, let's create, and then now it's more focused on like let's create like for instance a piece that's going to heal someone from anxiety or heal them from you know past traumas and things like that. And I think for me, for my journey, a lot of the pieces that I create are healing pieces in that way. Um I feel like Jeff has no, I would agree.

Her pieces are unique and I mean they're marvelous. They just they speak, you know, a certain they speak out to who that individual's looking for. And we've had people show up looking for it just because they seen it or they knew it was coming. And uh, you know, she's being kind of humble because it's just not wire raps, they're they're amazing.

Yeah. Um and I think done with intention with spirit, whenever you entwine your in your intention with spirit's intention, it's just amazing the energy that comes off of the pieces whenever you work that way.

Yeah, yeah, it's amazing because uh, you know, it's weird. You know, we we work in a small little room. Uh basically our workroom is our bedroom because we just like to be there. Um, and I uh there's a reason for that. It's but when she gets in the mode of making, I kind of leave her alone because you can kind of tell she's focused and and it's coming through and she's building it the way it is. And I recall when I first started, um, I probably was doing about a month, and I was in this mode, and I was just going to town on these things, and she was resting, and she looked at me, she's like, You all right? I was like, I was like, Yeah, I don't know what's going on. These are just falling, falling together, just like this and this and this, you know. And and she's right, you we're not making for the cell. We're making for individuals or purposely for to protect you while you're journeying, um, to heal from trauma, or just you know, to block negativity. So we kind of we kind of amplify them as much as possible with with special special mixes. We take one, twos, and threes, which which she kind of got on to me with, slapped my hand a little bit because she says I put too many beads in it for her labels. So we had to go to smaller print. And I'm like, well, this is just what I put into it. I I don't know. I couldn't tell you the maximum amount I put in at one time when I was building, but I know that I've reached at least five.

I know whenever I'm making stuff, sometimes I'm like, oh my gosh, this is a really big bracelet. And I'm like, but it's going to be just for that person that has that larger wrist that needs those specific stones, and it's gonna fit them, you know. So just go with the flow, right? And then it if it always pans out, it seems like.

Oh, that's that's exactly right. At the last event we had at Gypsy Soul Fire, a gentleman walked in and he's like, Oh my god, you've got men's bracelets. And he was a truck driver, and he literally chose a Lopus and pyrite uh bracelet, and he said, I I freaking love it. Um he's like, I've been looking for something like this. So my bracelets typically are a little bigger, and I have a hard time making them smaller, but sometimes I'm forced to by the by the boss.

We all want to wear his bracelets. They we have smaller wrists, and you know, they're just they're for men and for women. It's it's for everybody, right? And so um, yeah, I do. I would love for him to make the bracelet that fits, you know, both both all genders.

She gets she gets every one of my like new bracelet styles or anything like that. She has to try them all out. But we're our own, we're our worst critics, you know. We I don't know, you can hear us throughout building, and it's like, well, look at this, you know, what do you think? And we're like, yeah, maybe, and and she'll look at mine and I'll look at her creations. We're like, yeah, if that's what you're feeling, if that looks good. And usually we're we're pretty close for what we've done. I don't think we've changed too much once we ask for a I don't know, quality control, if you will.

Right. Well, do y'all have a favorite do you have a favorite stone that you're more drawn towards for yourself? Either one of you?

SPEAKER_00 12:23

Oh, we both do.

Well, I we always do.

SPEAKER_01 12:26

I mean, I always have a list and I'm like, but I'm always gravitating towards at least like I have a top three. So what what are your top three stones? Because I know it's hard to really narrow it down.

SPEAKER_03 12:40

I mean, it is and it isn't. Like I go through phases in my life where I'm like, I really need like Amazonite in my life. Like right now, I'm an Amazonite girl. Like I need it on my nerves. Like I have the Jeff has you know, his gemstone rings. I wear the Amazonite and a ring, a stretch ring. Um but yeah, that's definitely one of the stones um that I love right now. I'm also obsessed with jet. Yeah, I knew that was I love a jet ring. I have a bracelet. If I could wear, like if I swear, if I could have like a bodysuit of jet, I would wear it. It's awesome. That is definitely it's like it's such an incredible stone. Um, you know, it it's supposed to um help draw out that the um uh I'm getting tongue tied. Um trauma. Yes, it heals trauma. It it just pulls out all of that and just helps you heal overall. I just it's just an amazing stone.

Um and if I remember right, it works on uh EMF too. I think it kills you from the EMF, which is great. So if you work in, you know, in an office, well, we all mess with the electronics, it doesn't really matter. We get it everywhere from our Wi-Fi and our computers and our phones and our iPads, and I mean the list just goes on and on. Unless you're disconnected, you're not getting it. And everybody's connected, right?

Yeah, and I agree with I agree with that EMF stuff. I mean, I don't know what your third one would be. You do wear moonstone.

I guess I can oh, you know, I right now I'm currently I do wear moonstone. Uh that that's definitely one that I wear daily. So I would say that, but then fluoride I've kept in my life a lot, and um that came back to me just recently um in a bracelet. So I have four. I'm sorry, fam. I cannot narrow it down into three.

I don't know for for me um personally, I am really drawn to Eagle Eye.

Yes.

I love I love Eagle Eye. It's uh it's just like like I'm a Capricorn, so I like to keep my eye out. I like to watch, I'm hypersensitive on, you know, just I just watch, I keep an eye out basically. So um Eagle Eye is one of mine. Um, and then I would say my second one is Tiger Iron. Obviously, you can see a theme there with the tiger eye. So tiger iron I really love, and I'd probably say my third one would be the hematite mixtures in with those beads.

So I blend I blend hematite in with them. I had a little stretch ring for the longest time, um, and I'm gonna make another one, but it was tiger iron and it had hematite uh Helishi disc on it, and I love that thing. Yeah, so it just it just brought comfort to me. And then of course the hematite um really helps with I I do the magnets. Uh so I was a I was a Gulf War veteran, so I have a lot of like pain issues, just kind of what we call popcorn pain. It just kind of floats around and shows up, you know, kind of like everybody says it's old age. But I I wear the the magnetics, and and it just brings me to a point where and I I've always liked this, and Simone always reminds me of it. We we had a customer one time talking to us, and I was telling him about it, and he asked me, he said, so you can feel it. And I looked at him and I don't know what made me say it. Actually, I do know what made me say it. It was spirit. It told me to tell him, no, but I can feel it when I don't wear it. And that made so much sense to me because I literally will go out in the driveway, get my truck, be about two blocks away, and be like, oh, I gotta turn around and come back and get it, which I hardly ever forget.

But that's stuck, that stuck with me because it's so subtle you think, oh, it's nothing, and then when you don't have it, you're like, Whoa, wait a minute, I need this.

And it's super grounding, so that really helps when you're on your spiritual path and you're opening up the way that you are, and with a tiger iron and all of that, that really helps you to ground. Because I know at the fairs, I I used to always have some uh hematite on the table, and people would come up and be you know, heart palpitations, oh my gosh, all the energy and stuff like that, you know. Well, hold out your hand. And I put that, you know, hematite in their hand, it was like a kerchunk. You could see their energy just hit the ground, you know, and and ground that energy. So that really, really helps with grounding like all of that for you, doesn't it?

Oh, absolutely. And the you know, and the uh the other one that I toy with is um bronzite. I like bronzite a little bit, and it has a lot of a lot of uh characteristics that I really didn't know until I kind of started wearing it. So I switched between it on a stretch ring from bronzite to the tiger iron.

Yeah, I like both of them, but I like the bronzite too, and it's a unique one that not everybody's come across yet, you know. So I I love that y'all throw in, you know, a couple of things that people maybe haven't heard about. I always like to try to find something that's unique sometimes.

Yeah, we we do we try to do unique, but we try to do stuff that we know that people have come up and are gonna need assistance with that somebody else is gonna come up and ask for it. Um you know, the the one-offs is is okay. You're always you can't know them all. Somebody's gonna come up and ask for something you may or may not have. But you know, I like to know what other vendors have because if they have it, I will definitely send them over there and say, go there.

You know, they they they have it, you know. Um so I kind of kind of look around and stuff like that. But exactly. I think that's mine. Moonstone was your fourth one. Yeah.

Like I said, I could I could do a top ten for sure. Easy. Oh yeah, oh yeah. Oh well, what stone do you think that is probably the most popular that people ask for the most?

I would say pro I would say tiger eye. You think well initially when uh it just just depends on what area we are in, I think.

The most known is amethyst.

Right.

Almost everybody knows it, and they're like, ooh, amethyst. Yeah, and we try to go with the chevron or the very um jimmy that really is is a nice cut and everything. Because we handpick ours. We don't we don't just do a bulk and all this stuff. We actually, if it's not good enough, it's not going in our stock.

But I would say amethyst is the number one known stone. But I would I don't know, Moonstone's pretty close too.

Yeah, I just think that it it it varies um depending on like what area, like what type of event we're going to. So like if we're going to a metaphysical event um or a gypsy soul fair, um we're gonna people are gonna ask us for the more high vibrational stones. Yeah.

Most definitely.

Um and then more vibration. Right. So like if we're in the city, you know, like in Claremore or in um Owasso, then then it'll be a different stone.

It's toned down a little bit.

Yeah, it yeah, it'll be like the you know, like the tiger eyes, or maybe like he said, uh um amethyst or rose quartz. Yeah, right.

Red, I mean, red, red, uh, red tiger's eye, you know, I really like too. I've met I'm married in. So a lot of times when you go from a non-metaphysical location, it's more about what they know and color of the stone.

Right. But that's yeah, because everybody's gonna know amethyst and exactly.

And that's but that's their higher self, you know, as you all know. That's the higher self coming in and being like, oh, I like this. Like shoe light, a lot of people don't know what that is, but in the metaphysical world, they're like, Oh, I I need that.

Right.

You know, that's gonna help me journey and and protect me. Where on the flip side of it, if we're in a toned down area, it's more like, oh, that's that's a beautiful stone. And is that amethyst or something like that? And you're like, no, it's not. And then we have, you know, we I I really feel that we're not only there to help them with our stones, but I feel like we're there to educate them, and and that's where some mom's expertise comes in because I'm just still trying to play catch up, even though I know what I put together for the most part, but you know, I can always ask her, and she's my resource, my go to.

Right. Even though she may not like it, but I really love it. I that is. One of the most um one of the things I love about this business is to be able to help someone guide them to, you know, what stone it is that that they need in their life.

I love that. I love when people ask about it because then we can share the knowledge, and that's really what we're here to do, you know, to plant the seed, to um help them on their journey, to help them, you know, get closer to their higher self. And so no, I do, I love it. Um, I love being able to interact with with our customers in that way.

But I think I think for us, I think we're we've gone a little bit further, deeper to where when individuals come up, they don't have to say too much. We kind of can see or know what they're looking for at times.

Right.

There's a few there's a few times that we we will have, you know, download real quick of an individual in front of us, and we're like, have you seen this? And they're like, Oh my gosh, tell me about it. And when you tell about it, they're like, I gotta have it.

Yeah. We had an event that we went to and it was at the um Oakwise apothecary. Um, and there was a guy there that he made um what was it that he made? The wands. And so he came over, and I don't think this has ever happened to me, but I looked at him and I saw one of the pendants that I had made. It was an obsidian pendant with a tree of life on it, and he was talking to us, and I just saw this pendant on his neck. It was just clear as day, and I, you know, and so I and so I just said, um, I just told him, I was just like open and honest with him, and he's like, I need that. And he was telling us a story about this obsidian that like just and it was just it was so incredible to be able to just like see that and um but it was a it was a yeah, it was a it was a truth.

You you spoke truth to him, right? Right. He realized he realized that it was the truth, it wasn't a I'm trying to make a sell to you. Exactly. This is what I saw, and when she relayed that to him, he saw it too. Right. I don't know where I don't know where you went to after that, but it wasn't five minutes later. He's like, I gotta have it.

Oh, yeah.

So he bought right, but yeah, he was people can feel that from you. They can feel if you're just trying to make a sale, or if you are doing your work from the heart, you know. I feel like it makes, you know, then they can feel your spirit, your soul, you know. It it's a soul connection that you have, then I feel like, right?

Yeah, so I mean that's honestly that's how we came together to be one, was we we believe we're soulmates and we were driven by the divine to be together. Um, multiple confirmations have happened that way. And but you're so right about the energy at our booth. Because one, when we make our gemstones backtracking a little bit, we if we're in a bad mood or anything like that, we won't create. It's not the time we won't, we will not do it because we do not. And and then you know, we have processes like when our stones come in, they get cleaned of energy, any energy they picked up, and you know, then when we craft them, we clean them and we put our intentional energy in it, which usually usually only allows us to make a few and then drains us and we're ready to go to bed, right? So, but when people come in, you're right, they feel that energy that we that we are grateful for that they feel blessed to be able to put that in our booth. And I I will say thanks again for saying that you know, we have such a good looking booth. We really try. We we try, that's one thing we try to do is really put it and flow it to where individuals come up and they can feel the energy and they can locate what they want, and it's welcoming to them.

Right, it is, it's very welcoming when you walk into your booth and people feel at home there. So that you know, some people can um set I've seen people that have set up booths before and you didn't feel like you could walk in. And you know, then people just don't, honestly. But your booth is completely different from that. It is very welcoming and inviting and everything. So yeah.

Yeah, we some old always toyed with toyed with the idea that we need a husband chair outside of our boom so the husband can sit down while wife jobs.

But gosh, haven't you seen a lot of the husbands that are looking for stuff too? I've seen a lot of that at the fairs. I love the families that come in. Um one time, well, a couple I've had it happen a couple of times, but uh kids that come in and they and the with their parents and the parents are like, we didn't even know the fair was going on. Um, our daughter told us it was, and she's like seven, you know what I mean? And they're going along and going, Hey mama, you need this stone and you need that. And I'm like, oh, these kids are open, you know. Have you seen any of that stuff? I mean, I just love to see the families when they come in too.

Oh man, yeah, we have seen that too. The kids are so open to it. Um, they'll they'll literally run to our booths because they feel the energy and the the stuff, you know, they'll call them rocks or stones. And when you start questioning them about it, they actually have done their homework on some of it.

I uh I remember in the farmer's market, I actually this kid, he really impressed me. I actually gave him one of our stone guidebooks and said, here you go, study this and and you know, start your journey because he was so into it. Um, it was amazing. But you know, we've also I've also seen well, we've seen people walk by and give that look and then just kind of go almost two steps back and then stop and then come back and then walking. You could see the whole calling, the calling of them happening, and it's amazing because you're like, okay, what is it that called you in here today?

So yeah, I think there is a I think there's a and that's something that happened to me being a little bit more open. I kind of I wasn't as open until she came into my life and started creating. And like I said, I sat back and I watched and learned and paid attention and I was kind of amazed, and it kind of opened me up. But I think there's a lot more opening happening than what people realize right now.

Yeah, and I mean the work that you're doing is I mean, when we do this work, it opens us up. And when we open up, it opens up other people. And then having those conversations expands our consciousness even more, just like having the conversations we are right now. And it's amazing to think of the people that are listening right now. It's gonna open them up to other realities and knowings and everything. So it's really amazing journey to have, no matter how it starts or begins and and and continues to expand.

Yeah, yeah. I love it. I I love hearing everybody's stories and stuff.

Um it's amazing the journeys that happen. I mean, it really is for us and where we've been, because last year, was it last year? We only had one gypsy soul fair event.

Yeah.

Last year, and this year we're doing all of them, but I think two.

And it's probably gonna continue that way. And if we ever we had a chance to get down to Wakachee, well, you know, this is our part-time. Um obviously we'd love it, but uh if we had a chance to do them all, I think we I know we would.

We love the the soul family and the atmosphere is such a such a blessing. Um, and the people that come in amaze me um with their with their attitude and just their I guess their what do you think, babe, compassion and love they have for it all?

Yes.

The open people are just people that the soul, the enlightened souls is what I call. I love the enlightened souls because they come in so genuine.

SPEAKER_01 30:34

Right. Yeah, that authenticity to everyone that comes in and and they're searching and some are searching, some have been well, I think we're all searching. I don't care where we're at on our path. I've been doing this for a uh some time now. And I'm always looking and searching and and finding uh new experiences all the time. So um I think it's a beautiful path to be on and connecting with uh spirit and creator and everything and the in the it just I don't know. I'm always amazed of everything of my path and and then listening to people like yourself too and and how it's opening and expanding and and how you're interacting with everyone else around you at the fairs and in your business because um I don't know, I just think it's a beautiful um a beautiful path.

Do you we we do not right now? We we are made in Oklahoma. We have that title, which uh we we utilize that website. We have the Facebook and Instagram.

Um Do you do special like um orders or anything? Like if someone was looking for certain stones or something to be put together or a wire wrap or whatnot.

Um so we we don't do that. Uh we don't offer that service. Um but there have been times where someone has come up to us and asked if we could do it, and there are times that I'll say yes.

So it it's it's definitely not like a service that we're doing right now, but um but there are times where I feel like this person does need a custom piece or if somebody visited in the booth, they're probably 99% if they ask for it, they're gonna get it.

We'll try to accommodate. If it's somebody that just reaches out to us, one, it's so much spam out there, but two, we we like to interact with our customers and we then we would know what it's like, what they want, because we want a good experience with them too. Because when they're standing in front of you asking and and asking you to make something, you kind of like I said, we kind of get an idea of what what they're looking for and what we can create for them. Um but just over the uh interwebs, it's kind of difficult. So we we don't offer that just yet. Um maybe next year we'll expand to we'll expand, you know, we're doing good. We love it. Um we're gonna go through with it, and probably next year, maybe we'll have a website with sales on it. But again, we don't want to take away the authenticity of our gemstones of somebody saying, I want this and create, you know, because we've had individuals come up to us and say, Oh, I need this, I want this and this and this, and you're kind of thinking in your head that that don't work. It don't work that way. It it it just wouldn't marry or mesh well.

So we want the authenticity to be real. Um and I think the way we're doing it right now works. Exactly because, like you said, otherwise someone would be back in that same groove of wire wrapping, trying to make it fit when she's she would lose some of her creative power, and we don't want that.

Exactly. Yeah. Um, and I don't think I said this at the beginning of the podcast, but you guys are holistic hub members.
